marraige certificate

So as of the moment we’ve got rings, a license and an officiant. What else do you really need to get married, right?

Meanwhile, Tapwater (the band) is confirmed (at last!) and they’re going to learn “True Colors” for us (yay for Cyndi Lauper with steel drums!)

The roomates almost have me convinced that it’s not actually necessary to scrub the last little bits of black crud out of every cranny of the cupcake tower.

Natalie’s gonna help me with the favors (yay for crafty friends!)

and Holly and I are going out to Sephora later this week to sort out a plan for makeup that I can actually a. afford and b. accomplish.

Now if a keg of beer would magically appear, my day would be fairly well complete…

TAPWATER "Smiling Balloon"

This is Tapwater– they are the band that’s going to play at our wedding. They’re friends with our friend Lisa, who knew them down in San Diego and they moved to Portland last summer.

Lisa asked them to come play at Kira and Morgan’s 31st birthday party, out at Kira’s boyfriend’s organic farm.

Here’s a picture of them playing at the farm:

We all had such a blast dancing to the music. Plus, their instruments include a stand up bass, a steel drum, a fiddle, some regular drums, some guitar-y stuff, and, if I’m remembering correctly, some kind of brass instrument.

Its like all of the world’s coolest instruments in one band.

Now, I wonder if they have time to learn all the lyrics to Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors…?
